Malek Al-Tojar Traditional Hotel

The 4-star Malek-o Tojar Antique Hotel is one of the spectacular monuments in Yazd, the world’s first adobe-structured city. This old house was the home of Haj Ali Askar Shirazi a well-known merchant during the Qajar era and his descendants of four generations reside there. This ancient mansion was modified to become the first mud brick hotel all over the world in 1997 and to improve the quality of service and update the facilities the hotel was renovated in 2014. Each of the 23 rooms of the Malek-o Tojar hotel has unique characteristics and the walls and ceilings of most of them are decorated with paintings of the Shiraz Narangestan pavilion style. Moreover, the beautiful porch, the charming courtyard with its big pond in the middle, the winter and summer chambers, the eye-catching windcatcher, marvelous wooden pillars, mirror room, and the terrace, all together make this hotel a pleasant place to stay. This ancient mansion is situated in the old quarter of Yazd in the vicinity of Khan Bazaar and has quick and easy access to Amir Chaghmaq’s historical complex and Zoroastrian Fire Temple.
