Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran
Imam Khomeini International Airport in Iran is exclusively for international flights. This airport is located 30 km from Tehran, the capital of Iran, and functions as a highway connecting Iran with the world. At this airport, numerous Iranian and international airlines are transporting passengers and goods.
Besides, with an area of 14,000 hectares, Imam Khomeini Airport is the largest international airport in Iran. The facilities of this airport include the car rental station, exchange offices, bank, veterinary and plant quarantine, restaurants, souvenir shops, hotels such as 4-star Ibis and Novotel hotels, etc.
Please note that since this airport does not offer domestic flights, you need to go to Mehrabad Airport in Tehran to continue your trip to other cities in Iran. Notably, Mehrabad Airport is located 52 km from Imam Khomeini International Airport. And, the trip duration between these two airports is about 1 hour by taxi.
Currently, 200 flights take off and land in Imam Khomeini International Airport daily.
Shahid Dastgheyb International Airport in Shiraz
Shiraz International Airport, also known as “Shahid Dastgheib Airport,” is the most equipped international airport in Iran after Imam Khomeini Airport in terms of navigation and electronic equipment.
This airport houses two terminals: Terminal 1, with an area of 16,000 square meters, that supports domestic flights; Terminal 2, with an area of 21,000 square meters, which is exclusive for international flights.
It covers numerous international flights to the countries such as Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Turkey, and Iraq. Also, it provides numerous domestic air routes to Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan, Tabriz, Sari, Abadan, Bushehr, Bandar Abbas, Kermanshah, Larestan, Lamerd, Kish, Lavan, Qeshm, Siri, Mahshahr, Khark, Assaluyeh, and Rasht.
As a result, on average, 120 domestic and 10 international flights are performed daily in this airport.
Furthermore, the facilities of Shiraz international airport include the amphitheater, greenery, souvenirs shops, dock hall, customs hall with an area of about 750 square meters, etc.
Finally, the passenger acceptance of this airport is about 10 million passengers per year.
Shahid Hasheminejad International Airport in Mashhad
Mashhad International Airport is the busiest airport in Iran after Mehrabad Airport in Tehran. This airport has the highest number of incoming and outgoing flights among other airports in Iran.
Mashhad International Airport hosts domestic airlines including Atrak, Iran Air, Iran Airtour, Ata, Aseman, Taban, Zagros, Qeshm, Caspian, Kish, Meraj, Mahan, Naft; And international airlines including UAE, Turkish Air, Germania, Algeria, Shaheen, Safi, Iraqi Airways, Al-Arabiya, Fly Baghdad, Fly Dubai, Qatar, Comair, and Kuwait Airways.
In total, this airport hosts more than 25 domestic and international airlines.
Besides, Mashhad Shahid Hasheminejad International Airport is located on a 540-hectare land in the southeastern part of Mashhad. And with two parallel runways, it can accept all aircraft up to the Boeing 747 category.
Moreover, this airport houses the first multi-story airport car park in Iran with a capacity of more than a thousand cars. Also, it is connected to Mashhad city center through Metro Line 1.
Currently, there are numerous flights from Mashhad International Airport to 18 domestic and 19 foreign destinations, as per below.
Iran destinations: Tehran, Tabriz, Qeshm, Shiraz, Ahvaz, Isfahan, Sari, Gorgan, Nowshahr, Hamedan, Yazd, Kish, Zabol, Zahedan, Rasht, Chabahar, Bushehr, and Kermanshah.

Isfahan Shahid Beheshti International Airport
Isfahan International Airport is one of the most important international airports in Iran, located about 30 km from Isfahan. This airport was established in 1982 with an area of 1041 hectares to provide air services, training, and transferring passengers and goods.
Due to its particular geographical, political, economic, and cultural position, Shahid Beheshti Airport receives many domestic and foreign tourists, business travelers, and politicians.
At present, Isfahan International Airport serves about 1.5 million passengers daily. Besides, this airport hosts domestic airlines, including Kish Air, Iran Air, Aseman, Caspian, Mahan Air, etc., to different domestic destinations. Moreover, the foreign airlines which are active in this Iranian airport include Fly Dubai, Algeria, Iraqi Airways, Qatar Airways, etc.
Additionally, it has flights to several foreign destinations such as Tbilisi, Baghdad, Dubai, Kuwait, Jeddah, Medina, Istanbul, Izmir, Damascus, Najaf, Adana, Antalya, Doha, etc.
Kish International Airport
Kish International Airport is located in the free trade zone of Kish Island in the Persian Gulf in the Hormozgan province. This is one of the most important international airports in Iran in terms of tourism, which transports many international and Iranian tourists annually.
Notably, Kish International Airport has been running since 1977 in an area of 9 million square meters. It was officially inaugurated with the landing of the first Concorde passenger plane.
The facilities of this airport include the ceremonial hall, parking with a capacity of 500 cars, car rental offices, restaurants, CIP hall with an area of 500 square meters, etc.
Besides, this airport has four separate terminals that support 20 domestic, and two foreign destinations.
These destinations include Dubai, Muscat, Tehran, Shiraz, Mashhad, Isfahan, Bandar Abbas, Kerman, Ahvaz, Tabriz, Yazd, Hamedan, Bushehr, Rasht, Kermanshah, Sari, Kashan, Gorgan, Jam, Assaluyeh, Urmia, and Sanandaj.

Qeshm International Airport
Qeshm International Airport, also known as Deyrestan International Airport, is located in Deyrestan village on Qeshm Island.
